These pistols are not actually used in any conflicts because it is so highly powered. In airsoft the desert eagle is usually a gas powered gun, however it can be spring or electric.

The gas guns can shoot from 300-400 fps which is better than some rifles, however the springs usually only shoot about 250 fps. As all airsoft guns, the desert eagle is extremely life like, and if you buy a co2 powered one it also has some kick back (nowhere near the real gun.)
