Oblivion Thieves Guild
The leader of the thieves guild is the Gray Fox. He is a notorious thief that many have tried to catch but none have prevailed. The thieves guild is a way for thieves to get together and hit some hot houses for loads of cash.
How to Join
There are a few options to join the thieves guild, first you can go and break into someones house and steal something. Then when a guard catches you and you go to jail, and then come out of jail a thieves guild member will approach you. Another way is to go to the Imperial City Waterfront district and look at a poster for the wanted Gray Fox. Then after seeing this poster you can talk to beggars about the Gray Fox. They will then inform you that there is a meeting in the Garden of Dareloth at midnight.
Perks
When you join the thieves guild the most noticable perk is the ability to sell your stolen goods to people called "fences." You will have to sell some of your stolen goods to these people to be allowed to continue down the thieves guild questline. However another perk of joining the thieves guild is the ability to get rid of your bounty by paying half of what your bounty was. For example if your bounty was 2000 you would only have to pay 1000. You can also only get the Boots of Springheel Jak and the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal by completing the thieves guild questsline.

In the thieves guild there are five fences, I will list them from the poorest to the richest.
